You are correct about past history of battery designs 10 years old and the installed base. However most new sales of moderate priced EV ($30,000 or so) use LFP , some better then other but all exceed your industry wide assortment.
Their a risk with EV. Vendor that compromise key specifications to achieve a low price put the entire market at risk.
This why the government required 100,000 mile warranty on batteries.
