Why do these articles focus on nickel and cobalt when most EVs use LFP batteries that have no nickel or cobalt?
Why is it on current or past data and not projections based on new lithium mining technology that is 10 times faster and uses less water. And the trend to new battery chemistry that uses less Lithium. What is important is where will we be in 20 years.
But ok here is why EV are cool today:
EV fuel is 70% less than gasoline and diesel. By 2050 (or maybe sooner) the U.S. will save $540 billion per year on fuel.
Less gasoline and diesel consumption means less oil demand so less profits for Russia and Middle East Terrorists.
Electric fuel for vehicles means more stable fuel pricing and supply. Lower inflation.
Less chance of a Middle East war over oil.
EV are better and will continuously improve in cost, range and charging speeds.
