Abortion contraception no fault divorce
After clearing a path for abortion laws and the promise by MAGA republicans to make abortion illegal in 50 states, MAGA republicans are busy working to remove contraception, and no-fault divorce.
Justice Clarence Thomas argued in a concurring opinion on abortion in 2023 that the Supreme Court “should reconsider” its past rulings codifying rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage. He is inviting MAGA republicans to bring such cases to the supreme court
. The strongly held religious beliefs of the few, can become the law of the land.
As reported by Rolling Stone and others, this news comes on the back of recent proposals by conservative-dominated state legislatures to overturn no-fault divorce in Texas, Nebraska and Louisiana.
If you marry someone who turns out to be narcistic and violent, too bad. If you have 8 kids and that is enough, too bad.
All of these efforts are rooted in extreme religious groups.
And the supreme court is very sympathetic. In two cases where a private citizen said my religious beliefs must not conflict with my interactions with others, the court agreed. So, a gay couple asking to use my services reflects on my strongly held religious belief. Or a corporation does not have to offer birth control as it conflicts with my, the owners, religious belief.
Ok, if divorce couples seek a rental, they can be denied the rental. If I don’t believe in mixed race couples, same outcome. If you get divorced, of course it is ok to fire you.
To obtain a divorce you will need to prove in court that a marriage “that GOD said should never be broken” should be broken.
If you are married and have no children after 10 years the Red states can take you to court for using contraception. Prove that you did not or face a jury of Red state religious extreme cults.
To quote Thomas Jefferson:
“Religious institutions that use government power in support of themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths, or of no faith, undermine all our civil rights.”
All the first 6 presidents of the US warned about the same issue. Laws based on religious belief have no place in the public square. Believe what you want in home and at your church but never let the religious views influence the US laws.
Separation of church and state is fundamental.
If you read Thomas Paine “The Age of Reason” 1794 he clearly explains why religion interpretation of the bible is too often just used for power. It is dangerous to the health of a free society.

he believes in God, just not the religious dogma created by man.
In summary:
MAGA Republicans want to pass nationwide bans on abortion, contraception and no-fault divorce, with jail time and services denied in the public square for violations.
US founders warned that laws based on religion would deny citizens basic rights.
Vote against all MAGA republicans and save our nation from the “strongly held” beliefs of a few loud and active religious cult members who use religion to gain power.
