The field of EV is on a technology rocket. Tesla is working on a motor design with few or no rare earth materials. Why? Of course cheaper but high production volume might be more important. How? The simulation SW and materials science is way more advanced plus instruments to measure data on the atomic level are all leaping ahead every 5 years and being used by Tesla plus many development groups.

Tesla’s battery development partner in Canada has lab results suggestion battery life of 100 years is possible. Will EV come with battery rentals of $200 per year? Grid storage 10% of todays cost, vehicle to grid common … will used EV life be so long new car production drops by 50%?

There is more- nano particles are emerging …

What I am saying is today’s EV is a model T compared with EVs produced in 2035.

Oh, and gas and diesel consumption will fall much faster then folks are predicting, mostly because commercial use accounts for most consumption and EV is already cheaper. When gas and diesel consumption drops by 50%, gas and diesel prices will increase, refineries will shut down as their volume drops below levels needed for profit.
