Tesla is setting the bar for charging times, you can bet other vendors will match. For a 400 mile trip I need to charge once on the way for 10 minutes. More than 99% of my charging needs with 350 mile range are covered by home charging.
As the industry improves nearly all charging will be met at home.
Note the ramp for EV sales will take a while so about 10 years for 20% of cars to be EV.
So gas cars need pumps for 100% of charging needs. EV projection about 1 %.
The article needs to project charging needs based on where the industry will be and miles driven per year (13,500 on average) and number of long driving trips as a percent of driving.
