SW can easily determine if an object is authorized to be in a location or not. So the use case on monitoring a place after dark or areas with very restricted number of people and or vehicles is easy. If you are monitoring a hotel or other public place, yes that is a hard use case. However if the SW detects a rubber chicken, of course sound an alarm. I worked on camera systems to monitor nuclear materials and reduce false alarms. Yes such systems can be effective in filtering false alarms.
