Some fun EV thoughts
Less fossil fuel use means less oil profit for Russian and Middle East Terrorists. Fewer Middle East wars over oil, stable fuel prices and supply
20% of vehicles use 50% of US fossil fuel. Most of those cases are commercial where miles driven per day are 100 or less. The decision or EV or gas suggests 50% reduction in fossil fuel use by 2030
In 2023 three battery vendors started production of batteries with significant boost in performance but with lower cost and weight. CATL the super fast LFP 425 miles range and charge time 250 miles in 10 minutes. Lyten Li sulfur plus unique carbon offer 2x watts per Kg. Amprius offering 2X watts per Kg using very dense Si anodes. Both are cheaper. So 600 mile EV or 300 mile EV at half the battery price.
The pace of EV adoption will jump is 3 years as these technologies ramp to full production.
Ok now I will predict that batteries with 10 times today’s energy density are possible. And battery life of 100 years is possible. At least today’s lab results suggest this.
And then Tesla just announced they will enable vehicle to grid in newer EV designs like Ford did.
To sum up, in 10 years batteries will be cheaper.
