Right. Encourage R and D investment for continuous improvement is the path to sort out how to match demand with less materials. The semiconductor industry has done this for decades. The same progress is in play for clean energy. Recycle efforts in Li batteries is demonstrating 95% recovery. Wind turbines are being designed with recycling in mind. Motor generators are being produced with less rare earth materials. Will this be enough? TBD but for sure engineering investments are the best hope. The Trillions dollar energy market attracts investments, consumer support keeps it going. LED lights are more efficient last longer. Heat pumps offer better cooling heating with less energy and their is room for improvement (cheaper geo thermal heat pumps). Move efficiency in energy production and use is what we must do. Consumer demand and smarter choices would be helpful, not sure if society will support this part of supply demand eco system.
