Renewable energy feeds power to the grid at about 80% lower cost than fossil fuel, accounting for all life cycle costs.
UK citizens don’t see falling power rates as the infrastructure investment for increased consumption or the payback period is shorter than the life of the infrastructure investment and remaining fossil fuel prices fluctuate.

I am not sure how this becomes common knowledge: renewable energy is saving citizens money. Fossil fuel supply and cost are not as predictable and can easily spike on the next war.
