Not sure I agree. China has been playing fast and loose with battery material restrictions. The US has found ( because there is now a big reason to look) US sources of battery material.
The US has encouraged local US companies to develop battles that can be 100% sourced in the US. So Lyten fits that bill and the US military has tested there current production.
What I am saying is we need a bit more time (5 years) to have an independent source of batteries.

Why. Of course US jobs. But also drones are becoming major weapons and many use batteries. Which is why local supply not controlled by China is strategic.

By the VIN Fast, a Vietnam company with a US plant also makes an $11,000 EV for Asia. So we might that option soon in the US.
