My guess is 70% of vehicle spending decisions are emotional. So agree with some of your points. My point is investment of new battery technology is massive and driven by the high market available for the next generation battery. Twice the energy density at less cost. CATL latest LFP is close. The pilot production of Li Sulfur is getting close. Will the leap of 1/2 cost and 2 x energy come in 3? or 6 or 9 years? What do think given 20 well funded research efforts on high density Si anodes, Li AIr, Na Batteries, li Sulfur, and the long shot solid state batteries. My guess 70% chance in 6 years, 90% in 9.
