LFP battery has an expected life of 1,200,000 miles. It is sold in more than 50% of EVs sold. The latest LFP battery from CATL supports charging times of 250 miles in 10 minutes.

Recently CATL offered customers buying their batteries for a bus a 900,000 15 year warranty.

EV vendors could economically offer a better battery warranty but don’t as they do the minimum time. Silly as the extended warranty would increase sales way more than addition warranty cost.

Panasonic in their Nevada plant is producing MNC batteries with Si nanoparticles that boost charging time and offer a 20% range increase. The plan is to see them in EVs 2025 or sooner.

EVs are fun to drive. I put 75,000 EV miles, quiet, responsive and very low cost of ownership.
