Just one or two counter points.
First the US is not the center of energy, China is. Renewables and EVs.
Next the trend to lower priced wind solar and grid batteries is extreme. Electric power production cost are falling. There is a grid infrastructure cost that needs to be resolved but long term electric power will dominate.
EV battery cost is declining faster than most folks realize. LFP batteries with life of 1,200,000 miles suggest EV have a hidden value. Research proves an expected life of 5,000,000 miles is likely. So recycle batteries 20 times ?
Lyten batteries offer material sources 100% in US and EU. Cost about half, energy density 2X, likely 3X next generation. Will battery cost and performance hit a tipping point by 2030. More likely than not.
Is fracking sub optimal, yes. Are we doomed. Nope.
