Intel faced similar issues , rwo cycle 18 months apart 3 years to define order build deliver $6B in new manufacturing equipment. All to double performance cost every 18 months.
The whole eco system stayed in step.
The production ramp had to go from 0 to 300 million in a year.

Batteries will see new technologies replace previous generation about every 4 years.

So the first 100 million units likely will be from several vendor but the next billion likely will have just two massive eco system.

Or maybe once batteries are 8 time the energy density and 10% of todays cost the industry will just make the same product for 50 years.
