I would guess Chrysler announcement of using Lyten might be good news for Rivian and Tesla. Taking a chance on a battery start up with 2x energy density, lower cost and 100% local source of materials is a bet.
However if Lyten can ramp up to a million or so batteries per year, that battery might lift the market.
It is also a priority for the U.S. military to find a battery supply 100% independent of China.
As vendors like Rivian and Tesla perfect EV systems the game could change quickly with a next generation battery sooner than later.
