I wish the West would announce a goal to reduce fossil fuel use in vehicles by 50% by 2030 and another 30% by 2035. The first goal is possible with todays EV products. 20% of light vehicles consume 50% of fossil fuel in the US, my guess same for EU. Those cases are mainly commercial use of vehicles, all would save money by converting to EV. The economic case gets stronger each year from R&D. For heavy trucks new battery technology is likely and will make this a slam dunk. heavy trucks account for 25% of fossil fuel use. The message to Russia is lower oil demand is motivated, in part, by Russia Ukraine war.
