I wish folks would expand on the benefits of EV in commercial world. Example a gas delivery van capable of 10,000 pound loads has 10 MPG. It averages 60 miles a day. The EV version 60MPG. An LFP battery charged at night covers 100% of needs. EV drive trains have an expected life of 1,000,000 miles, LFP batteries expected life 1,000,000 miles. If you do the math the savings every 12 years are on the order of $100,000. Note the replacement cycle and or major repairs makes the capital cost of EV lower not higher than gas. Same for police cars and postal trucks … 20% of high use case vehicles consume 50% of fissile fuel. Economics will drive these segments. Less pollution is a bonus. Add heavy trucks and 75% of fossil fuel is likely to be switched to save money, $trillions per decade. Talk about inflation reduction. I would think both left and right can support this.
