I can you are discouraged at the pace of elimination of fossil fuel. The economics of commercial use of EV to replace fossil fuel has won with today’s generation of EVs. That represents, in the US, 50% of light vehicle fossil fuel. For heavy trucks I agree we have work to do for battery density. Influit and research into Li Air have proven results in lab, Both are working on the next phase.

Not sure what value the statement one barrel of oil can provide 25,000 hours of labor. As one example, a machine using video, AI and laser can replace farm labors in weeding fields. What good is barrel of oil for this? The power of electric powered “robots” to more efficiently complex work can easily replace 100’z of human laborers.

As to coal and gas, yes the world still finds use cases for new construction. However those cases are dying out. Search on China growth rate of clean energy and the year the use of fossil fuel will start declining.
Coal use is decking world wide at a fast pace. As to gas for electric power, I agree that is not as fast, needs more cost effective alternatives.
