Here is my day dream plan to save the US auto industry and reduce consumption of gasoline and diesel:

Require all plug in hybrids to have an EV range of 100 miles by 2026. Require software are forces a 110 connection each day. Require only plug in hybrids and EV sales by 2030.

Continue supporting battery improvements in cost by 18% per year.

Fund US development of 500 w/ kg batteries by 2030 with cost of $60/kwh
