I don’t know for sure but would guess the Tesla engineers have the most advanced engineering tools available plus their own tools invented for the industry.

Having said that Tesla and Musk did one more task on par with Steve Jobs. They set the requirements, all of them. Highest safety, best charging infrastructure, great performance as a car, total battery management… starting with a sports car , then luxury car then mid range performance to win BMW gas car sales followed by SUV spot on requirements to win 1st place sales.
