Good article. China doubles clean energy in one year. Guessing that 2x every year for 10 years is not likely (1024X).
20% of light vehicles account for 50% of fossil fuel and those cases have a faster replacement cycle, so EV save a lot and conversion from gas to EV will be quick for these use cases. Once fossil fuel demand falls by 50%, refineries and gas stations will be shutting down. Pace of conversion gas to EV increases.
Your point, mine too, is this will happen faster then some folks want. Specifically the dictators of Russia, the Middle East and so on. Will this lead to massive disruption of countries dependent on oil?
Lower prices and labor will disrupt society.
My suggestion would be change what is taught in school and fund to services of child care etc
