For EV batteries the abundant materials include Silicon nano particles for anode (many companies) Amprius is a good example. Sodium batteries are ramping up.
Lyten uses Li Sulfur and 3d graphene.
The technology in the pipe line offer 2 to 4 X the energy density so use less material for the same range use materials that can sourced in the US. Note Lithium deposits have been found in the US and EU that will cover our needs for 50 years for EV. But we won’t need that much as recycling has proven 95% recovery.
