EV are evolving very quickly because there are two large markets that can be replaced, the fossil fuel market and gas cars. One part of this unfolding story is the pace of battery improvements. LFP batteries have replaced about 50% of NMC batteries. They last longer, expected life 1,200,000 miles compared to 300,000 - 500,000 miles and are cheaper. In development are several paths to batteries that will cost 1/4 of today’s batteries.
In short. gas cars are likely not competitive with EV in 10 years. Fossil fuel for light vehicles will drop to near zero consumption.
