CATL sodium battery is a very big step, especially for low cost EV. They are building a plant next to Tesla’s China plant. VW took 30 hours to build an EV in 2022, Tesla 10 hours. So yeah Tesla has a lead on manufacturing and rest of industry is rushing to catch up. All good, while I own Tesla stock, I don’t really care who “wins” number 1 in market share, just reduce fossil fuel use in light vehicles and heavy trucks by 50% by 2030.
