Battery costs dropped by more than 50% over the last 4 years as venders shift to Lithium Iron Phosphate or Si anodes. In less than 3 years Sodium batteries are projected to drive cost down another 50%.
So what? The price of low cost EV will drop below $18,000. Add a tax credit of $7000 the net cost is $11,000. Fuel cost saving over 100,000 miles will be $18 000. Which means folks on low income will have $25,000 more in their bank accounts if they buy it instead of an $18,000 gas car.
Finally, as competition ramps up the Tesla high margins will drop closer to industry average.
Will their still be expensive cars? Of course, but EV technology will be cheap, time for
Super sound systems and ??
