Agree the pace could and should be faster. Recently IRC funded Group14, a local (to me) company making tons of Si anode nano particles with $100 million to expand their production. There are about a dozen additional companies working on the same Si anode solution. Si anodes increase energy density by 50%. So you don’t need as much material allowing lower price and faster production ramp. Assume all vendors were funded so $1.2 Billion and odds of at least one qualified and 5 years sooner. Would that be worth the investment? My view, like yours is time to market should be highest priority.

I don’t know the thought process for Biden’s investment decisions. For me I would rank all the possible technologies and fund a fast ramp for any and all that prove pre production volume.
