First there is a strong trend away from nickel and cobalt. LFP Batteries are in more EV and use no nickel or cobalt.
CATL LFP batteries have an expected life of 1,200,000 miles and support charging of 250 miles in 10 minutes. Good enough?
CATL offers a 900,000 15 year battery warranty for bus batteries (new this year). EV vendors could offer really long battery warranty but don’t because they think it won’t affect sales.
If you buy an EV today that increases market size and attracts capital to invest in better batteries.

Here is one new technology that addresses all your concerns. Lyten.com. Lighter, less CO2 in manufacturing more range. About 2X gain on all.

This just one example.

So buy an EV, help support the evolution of battery technology.

Oh, by the way, renewable energy is growing faster every year replacing fossil fuel for electric power generation. It is getter better and cheaper every year and that includes grid batteries.
