500 mile range is overkill to 95% of the market. Most drive under 40 miles a day. In the US less then 0.5% of trips are over 150 miles. Is range anxiety real? Yes of course. However your neighbors are buying EV with 250 mile range and explaining they happy with the range but want more. Paradox? Nope same issue as wanting 4 wheel drive and never using it. But ok some folks buy what they need, some what they want. My point is the market demand will jump with longer range and it will jump with lower cost EVs, both from new battery technology.
